The Brown family established The Twinkle Foundation as a means to continue the fight against the disease which eventually took the life of their beloved mother, Lynn “Twinkle” Van Winkle Brown, after a 6 1/2 year struggle.

98% of the contributions to the Foundation go directly to the cause – specifically funding grants to organizations committed to similar goals.  The Twinkle Foundation is administered solely by volunteers. Wendy Brown (a thankful breast cancer survivor) directs the Foundation’s activities from her home in Hamburg, Germany.  She is assisted by her father, Glenn Brown (Kiawah Island, SC and Ludlow, VT) and her two brothers, Derek (San Francisco, CA) and Bradley (Boulder Creek, CA).  Numerous friends have also volunteered their time over the years.  Our only out-pocket-expenses include legal and accounting fees.

Breast cancer has touched our lives deeply and that of too many other friends – almost all uncharacteristic and inexplicable cases.  We want some answers.  We want a healthier future for our next generation.
